Manish Malhotra All Set To Design Uniforms For 10,000 Air India Staff Members

New Delhi: Air India revealed on thursday about its latest collaboration with renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra. The airline has joined hands with the fashion designer for the creation of fresh uniforms intended for more than 10,000 staff members, encompassing cabin crew, cockpit personnel, as well as ground and security personnel.

Considering this as an honour, Manish Malhotra said, “It’s an absolute honour to collaborate with Air India, our national flying ambassadors. Reimagining their uniforms is the onset of a journey of joy and collaboration, and I am excited to embark on it. Our shared ideology is simple yet profound: to evolve without erasing, to modernise without forgetting. Together, we aim to intertwine tradition with the future, crafting uniforms where comfort meets authenticity, wrapped in timeless elegance.”

Being really excited about this opportunity, Malhotra and his team have already initiated interactions with Air India’s frontline personnel, engaging in discussions and fitting sessions to gain a deeper insight into their specific requirements.

Additionally, this collaboration has also made the CEO & MD of Air India, Campbell Wilson really excited.

He said, “Air India is delighted to be collaborating with Manish Malhotra to realise our shared ambition of representing the very best of a vibrant, bold, and progressive India on the world stage. We are working closely with Manish and his team to combine elements of our brand, our heritage and our culture, together with the unique requirements of the airline environment, for what we hope will be a fresh and exciting new look that supports and represents the new Air India.”

Air India anticipates the introduction of these new uniforms for its employees to commence by the end of 2023.

Meanwhile, as far as the other new introductions are concerned, Air India had introduced a fresh brand identity and aircraft livery, back in August, as part of the airline’s ongoing transformation efforts since it came under the ownership of the Tata Group that took place over a year and a half ago.
